Yes, they legally can do that. They will just have to revoke the implied invitation then the person would be trespassing on private property.

Update on the $4000 day fine - Padron v Watchtower
by berrygerry infrom reddit:.
this was an oral argument to dismiss the $4000/day fine.
both sides presented their arguments and now the judges will write an opinion (30 to 90 days).

I think that the appeals court will affirm in part but also reverse in part.
I think that they will affirm portions of the daily sanctions fine probably the $2000 a day for not turning over the records. The court will probably see it as a contradiction from what was said in the Lopez appeal and what is being said now.
I think that they will reverse the redaction sanction and will allow somewhere between what Zalkin wants and what Watchtower wants to be the amount of redaction. I think that the court will see that there are privacy concerns of the third parties. I think that the appeals court will use this opportunity to clarify what the court ruled in the Lopez appeals case when the court ruled that third-party identifiers can be redacted. Also because Zalkin argued at the trial court that the reason they are needing the files is to look at numbers, redacted reports will still give them the same information.
The part about Watchtower being a separate corporation from CCJW that one is a toss-up. Other courts have viewed them as different corporations and cannot be responsible for the other's actions. This part will be the most interesting part.

Can you sue a False Prophet
by maccauk inits a serious question but we all know that thousands even millions have been misled, brainwashed or deluded into thinking the end of the world is coming by false teachers and prophets.
many people gave up family, careers, time, enjoyment of life etc etc only to be disappointed time and time again.they are responsible for pain, suffering, and manipulation.
this goes to many denominations.

Every country has there own laws and each country would have to be evaluated on its own. But let's take the USA.
You would have to get past the fact that it is established law that civil courts cannot intervene and determine if one's religious beliefs are right or wrong.
But let's say that you do get a judgement against a denomination that meets your criteria you have to show damages. How are you going to prove that you would have gotten a better job if you weren't part of that religion or didn't listen to that religious leader. You would have to be able to show that you would have had the skills to get it, that you would have been successful in that field and that you would have had the opportunity to work in the field. Even now when someone successfully sues for let's say wrongful death the person's current job and set of skills come into play when determining damages. You can't claim that a night watchmen potential earnings would have been equal to the CEO of

Remember that civil courts are supposed to be there to make you whole, not for it to be a windfall for the plaintiff.

Demographics are constantly changing now. It used to be that if you were born in one particular area even within the same country, it was rare for you to move. Now people move due to economic reasons all the time not to mention other reasons. It has to be looked at from the bigger picture.

There are about 300 voting members of the corporation. Each voting member serves for a term, if I remember correctly, of 5 years. The voting members will vote in directors of their respective corporations to serve for another term. If there are any voting members who are up in their term they will either vote that person in again as a voting member or they will replace that member.
I am not sure if they still do it but they used to inform the audience of who was elected to be voting members or was re-elected as a voting member.

All Donations Received @ KH During Annual Meeting Must Be Sent To The Branch
by thedepressedsoul ini just got word that in all congregations where the annual meeting is being streamed, any donations received that day, even if put in the box for the local hall must be sent to the branch immediately.. there will be an announcement made before the program starts for this arrangement.
so the extra electric needed that day, heat/ac that the congregation has to pay for does not matter.
all money donated that day has to go to the branch..

The October 2, 2017 Letter:
It does actually make sense because congregations may not be assigned to their kingdom halls for the viewings and it is not a congregation meeting it is a branch event.

It is actually not all the money. An estimate of the use of utilities would be taken out of the donations and be used for those needs. The rest go back to the branch.

Help! Mike & Kim videos all being deleted by Youtube
by mrmagic indue to watchtower flagging the mike & kim videos on youtube for copyright, youtube is giving them 6 days before they are shutting down their entire youtube channel.
can you help with a mass downloading program and then reuploading them on a mirror ?
would hate to lose all those good videos!
-

I never said that they shouldn't make videos and if they want to use copyrighted material then do it. But they also have to deal with the consequences. If Watchtower misquotes someone than that person can sue, and they should sue. If you want to do something because they think it is important, even if it is illegal, then you have to deal with the consequences and not just act like people are out to get you.

StephaneLaliberte: I never claimed that there was any financial harm or I am not sure of any other harm that was done, but that doesn't negate that they are being taken down due to the law. The copyright law does not require harm to occur to the copyright holder. Unlike popular belief personal use of copyrighted material is still a violation of it and can be enforced. If they want to break the law that is their decision but it is also that they have to man up and take the consequences of breaking the law, which in this case is having their account revoked. It isn't persecution or anything when the law is built for everyone and is being enforced to everyone.
